Deleting Event Broker Services

You can delete an event broker service provided that it hasn't been protected from deletion or it doesn't belong to an existing event mesh. For more information, see Using Deletion Protection.

You need the Mission Control Manager role to delete an event broker service if you have. When you delete an event broker service, clients can no longer access the service and may stop working as expected. This action is irreversible.

If the event broker service is part of an event mesh you can't delete it until you explicitly remove it from the event mesh. Event broker services that are part of an event mesh display the Mesh Name icon when you view the service in Cluster Manager. To see the name of the event mesh the event broker service belongs to, hover on the Mesh Name icon as shown in the following illustration:

Whenever you delete an event broker service, you are prompted to confirm your request because it affects applications connected to your event broker service and event mesh itself (if the event broker service is part of one).

To delete an event broker service, perform these steps:

  1. Log in to the Cloud Console if you have not done so yet. The URL to access the Cloud Console differs based on your SAP BTP region. For more information, see Logging In to the Cloud Console.

  2. Select Cluster Manager from the navigation bar.
  3. On the Service page, find your event broker service, click Actions , and then select Delete Service.
  4. In the dialog that opens, confirm you want to delete the event broker service by entering the service's name into the field and click Delete Service.
